thepaperbagwriter will exist as long is there is interest and as long as there are submissions. We accept submissions of all kinds, be it a 25-minute film or a 25-word poem, if you can send it we'll consider it. That being said, there are different submission procedures for different paperbag endeavors.

For Text Submissions:
Send all submissions of poetry, prose, fition, essay or humor to text@thepaperbagwriter.org. Please send submissions embedded in your emails, as we may not be able to open attachments. We try and respond to all emails within two weeks of receiving them. If we have not responded in the given time, resend the piece, making note of our inadequacy, and we'll try to get back to you as quickly as possible. All Submissions must include name, telephone number and email address, so that we can notify you if your piece has been selected. If chosen for our website your piece will be eligible for inclusion in our print journal, Brown Paper.

For Image Submissions:
Send all submissions of art, illustration or photography to image@thepaperbagwriter.org. We try and respond to all emails within two weeks of receiving them. If we have not responded in the given time, resend the piece, making note of our inadequacy, and we'll try to get back to you as quickly as possible. All Submissions must include name, telephone number and email address, so that we can notify you if your piece has been selected.

For Manuscript Submissions:
Brown Paper Press Inc., our publisher is currently looking for manuscripts of poetry and prose to publish in our minibook series these bags are paper. Send all manuscripts as PDFs or JPEGs to manuscriptsubmissions@thepaperbagwriter.org.

A Note About Submissions:
Because of our small size and general lack of funding we are unable to pay contributors at this time. However, if your work is chosen for our print journal, Brown Paper, you will be entitled to two contributor copies of the issue you are in with the option to buy as many more as you'd like at cost.
